American TV host Steve Harvey revealed that meeting President William Ruto was a goal he had long envisioned and included on his vision board. Harvey shared this sentiment while hosting President Ruto and his delegation on Tuesday.

He mentioned that his initial reaction when he was asked to stand in for Tyler Perry was one of disbelief at the coincidence. Harvey further stated that he had shown his vision board to President Ruto during their meeting, underscoring the significance of this encounter for him.

“I’m here on behalf of my brother Tyler Perry, he’s out of town and he wasn’t going to make it. He said Steve, the President of Kenya is coming to town and I said that’s ironic because he’s on my vision board. I showed it to him today,” the TV host said.

Harvey noted that he is already in business with the President of Botswana, Eric Mokgweetsi and was planning on engaging President Ruto.
In his remarks, Harvey insisted that Africa has great potential and that is needed to bridge the gap between Africa and the outside world.
He added that without Africa, there would not exist African-Americans.

“I was the first person to ever bring a Television show from America and tape it on the continent of Africa after everybody told me it couldn’t be done. They told me it wasn’t feasible. They told me they don’t have the infrastructure to pull it off. I went over there and proved them wrong because Africa is most capable.”

“All we have to do is build a bridge between here and there. You are who we are. If there was no Africa there is not African American, there is no Tyler Perry studios,” Harvey said.
President William Ruto during the meeting invited Harvey to visit Kenya.

He promised to make this a reality in September before the beginning of filming of his TV game show Family Feud, which will be done in Johannesburg, South Africa.
During this visit, he will also meet and engage Kenyan creatives.

Harvey will also come back in December where he will be part of the chief guests during Jamhuri Day celebrations.
