Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy is facing one of the most painful chapters of his life after a DNA paternity test delivered results he clearly was not prepared for.
The results were announced in a tense indoor clip bearing The Bloodline logo, where a medical practitioner addressed the artist directly in a split-screen interview format. The setting, decorated with green plants and colourful furniture, stood in sharp contrast to the weight of the moment unfolding on screen.
The practitioner read the findings aloud:
“Based on the DNA profiles generated from the sample submitted of Stephen Otieno Sr. and Stephen Otieno Jr., Stephen Otieno Sr., you are not the biological father of Stephen Otieno Jr. Mismatches were observed in 11 of the loci tested.”
Stevo Simple Boy announces breakup with Brenda
Following the revelation, Stevo wasted no time addressing what it meant for his personal life. On Tuesday, 20 October, he released an official statement confirming his separation from Brenda, the mother of Dragon Junior.
“Following the DNA test results, I wish to officially announce that Brenda and I are no longer together as a couple. The results have been difficult to process, but I have chosen to handle this matter with dignity and respect for everyone involved,” he said.
The rapper also thanked Microafia Healthcare for conducting the test professionally and called on fans to give him space as he works through the situation.
Dragon Junior’s paternity had been under scrutiny
Stevo and Brenda welcomed Stephen Otieno Junior, widely known as Dragon Junior, in late 2025. From the beginning, the child’s paternity attracted intense online debate, fuelled in part by claims from Stevo’s former manager, Geoffrey Machabe. Machabe later retracted those claims, but the speculation never fully went away.
With mismatches recorded across 11 loci, the science leaves no room for doubt. Stevo Simple Boy is not Dragon Junior’s biological father, and the rapper now faces the task of rebuilding his life in the public eye following one of the most personal disclosures of his career.
