Manchester United legend, Roy Keane has hit out at the club’s striker, Rasmus Hojlund after he missed multiple good chances against Wigan in the FA Cup on Monday night, telling him to ‘stop messing about’.

Hojlund returned to Man United’s starting XI in the FA Cup third round clash against Wigan after recovering from illness.

The Denmark international had some great opportunities to score in the first half against the League One side, heading an Alejandro Garnacho cross against the crossbar from close range.

He also failed to react to a saved Marcus Rashford shot, poking wide from six yards out against the host.

The 20-year-old looked very short of confidence in front of goal against Wigan and Kane was not impressed with him.

“You are too kind. I’d be fuming with him,” Keane said to Roberto Martinez on ITV.

“We wanted United to show a side of their game tonight. We wanted United to show a side of their game tonight, they have brought their habits from the Premier League into tonight in terms of missing chances, not being clinical. I want to see that side of United tonight.

“The striker is missing chances, we can say “unlucky” all day, but they are great opportunities. Put the ball in the back of the net, stop messing about.”

The FA Cup match finished 2-0 in favour of Man United, thanks to two goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.
