Grief has gripped Ramula village in Gwassi West Location, Suba South Sub County, after two children from the same family perished in a suspected arson attack. The children, identified as Saviour Omondi, a three-year-old and PP1 pupil at Ramula Primary School, and his brother Reagan Otieno, were asleep when their house was set ablaze, leaving them burned beyond recognition.

Gwassi West Location Chief Tobias Opiyo reported that the tragic incident occurred while the children’s parents were attending night prayers at a nearby home. The fire reportedly started at 3 a.m. on Saturday, completely engulfing the house by the time the father arrived after hearing the screams of his first wife, who was sleeping in another house.
