Suspect arrested as stolen police uniforms recovered in Murang’a

Police in Kigumo Sub-County have arrested a suspect believed to be linked to the theft of police uniforms in Kangari area, Murang’a County.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspect was apprehended by officers from Kangari Police Station after an intelligence-led operation.

During the arrest, officers discovered jungle trousers, a shirt with a corporal’s chevron, and a blue police jersey.

According to preliminary investigations, the uniforms were stolen from a police station in Nyamira North.

The suspect remains in custody awaiting arraignment.

“The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to protecting government property and preventing the misuse of police equipment, as such misuse could compromise public safety and security,” NPS said
