An arrested suspect behind the gruesome killing of two women and a young girl in Eastleigh will be detained for 9 more days pending further police probe.
Investigative officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) presented the suspect at the Makadara Law Court on Monday, asking to detain him for more days to aid in nabbing the prime suspect identified as Hashim Dagane Muhumed.
Journalists were not allowed to take pictures of the suspect because he had not been identified by witnesses
Muhumed, 24, is believed to have been driving the car that was used to abduct the murder victims on October 21.
CCTV footage shows the car, a Nissan Note, picking the victims from their home in Eastleigh hours before their bodies were found in different locations.
The vehicle was found abandoned at Wakulima Market near the ENA Coach stage and towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic examination.
DCI has now appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could assist in the arrest of Hashim Muhumed as they hold one suspect in custody.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Muhumed refueled the vehicle at the station after disposing of a body within Machakos County.
Among those questioned is an accomplice who was in contact with Muhumed on the night of the killings. The two are said to have shared a rented house in Eastleigh.
