Police officers in Busia County have arrested a suspected drug trafficker amid ongoing efforts to combat transnational narcotics crime.
According to police reports, officers intercepted a motorcycle transporting three sacks of suspected bhang, weighing approximately 100 kilograms.
The suspect, believed to be involved in the illicit trade, was detained in connection with the incident.
The narcotics were recovered and secured as exhibits for further investigation.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court soon.
The arrest comes as law enforcement agencies step up operations targeting the cross-border movement of illegal drugs.
Authorities emphasised that the operations are part of a broader strategy to protect communities and disrupt illegal drug networks that operate across borders.
