Grief has engulfed the Bula Pesa area of Isiolo county in Kenya after five family members d!ed in deadly night fire.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 14, 2025 while the family was asleep.
Citizen Digital reported that a 45-year-old woman, her three children and a family member were burnt to d3ath in a case of arson linked to a suspected love triangle.
The night fire claimed the lives of three siblings, their cousin, all aged between seven and 15 years, and their mother.
Sadly, there were no survivors in the inferno that destroyed properties of unknown value.
Family members and neighbours say they tried to put out the flames but were overwhelmed by the intensity of the fire.
Police in the area have already launched investigations into the matter, while local leaders continue to call for calm.
According to Senior Chief Abdi Dida, the fire is suspected to have been deliberately started over claims of infidelity involving the mother and another woman’s husband.
Local reports indicated that the suspect had threatened the mother days earlier over claims of infidelity involving her husband.
The five victims were buried in a single grave at the Bula Pesa cemetery in accordance with the Islamic tradition.
Area Chief Abdi Dida confirmed the incident, disclosing that angry residents tracked down the suspected arsonist, lynched her and burnt her house in retaliation.
The local administrator revealed that authorities rushed to the nearby school to ensure the safety of the children of the lynched suspect.
Dida asked for restraint and called on the public to allow the authorities to conduct their investigations, but his pleas came late as the suspect had already d!ed.
Local elder Omar Godana condemned the incident, emphasising that such a tragic and violent event had never occurred in the area before.
