Suspected phone hacker nabbed in Turbo as police recover flashing tools, devices

Police officers from Eldoret Police Station have arrested a man suspected of involvement in phone hacking and recovered assorted electronic devices during an operation in Kimumu, Turbo Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County.

According to a police report on Wednesday, officers apprehended the suspect at his residence before conducting a search of the premises.

The search led to the recovery of 13 assorted mobile phones suspected to be stolen, five HP laptops fitted with flashing tools, and flashing software believed to have been used in unlawful activities.

Police said the suspect was placed in custody pending further investigations and is expected to be arraigned in court.

All recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The National Police Service (NPS) said it remains committed to combating cybercrime and other emerging criminal activities, urging members of the public to safeguard their personal information and report suspicious activity.
