Three detectives are being treated in hospital after being injured while attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect in Kasarani, Nairobi County, on Sunday.

The trio was pursuing the suspect when they “came under a hail of fire,” according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

They did, however, manage to defuse the situation and recover a Ceska pistol from the suspect after fatally injuring him.

DCI chief Amin Mohamed paid a visit to the officers, who are responding well to treatment, on Monday morning and wished them a speedy recovery.
