Suspected thugs stab, rob diplomatic police officer in Kiambu

A police officer attached to the Diplomatic Police Unit fell victim to a robbery incident at Kiambaa area in Kiambu County in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, November 3.

According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, officer Stanley Kipterer had left his residence in Bypass area near Ruaka at 4:30 am and left for work.

The DPU is a specialised unit whereby the officers provide security for diplomats and the diplomatic community.

At Kiambaa area, he decided to deposit Ksh.1,500 in a local Mpesa shop but was accosted by three unknown men who hit him with a blunt object on the head and stabbed him with a sharp object on the upper torso.

The thugs managed to rob him off the Ksh.1,500 and his mobile phone make Samsung A23 before fleeing the scene.

Passersby who later found the officer lying on the side of the road rushed him to Nairobi West Hospital for medical treatment.

According to the report, the officer is currently in stable condition.
