Senator Tabitha Karanja has voiced her support for efforts to recall underperforming legislators, acknowledging ongoing challenges within the country. She questioned the sources of funds and the lavish lifestyles of some MPs at a time when many Kenyans are facing economic hardships and food insecurity.

These remarks coincide with widespread protests concerning government conduct and the rising cost of living. Coming from a corporate background, Karanja expressed dismay over what she views as significant mismanagement of public resources by the government.

While commending the actions of Generation Z activists, she criticized certain parliamentarians for failing to meet the expectations of the electorate who elected them into office.

“In the corporate world, those who don’t perform are sent home, and I support calls to recall all those legislators who have failed to perform,” she said.
She spoke during the burial of prominent Naivasha businessman Samuel ‘Mashwa’ Macharia.
