Two of the most memorable faces from Citizen TV’s beloved school drama Tahidi High have found their way back to each other, and fans could not be more thrilled.
Dennis Mugo, widely known by his on-screen name OJ, and Angel Waruinge, celebrated for her role as the stern Deputy Principal Miss Morgan, recently enjoyed a relaxed get-together.
Why did OJ and Miss Morgan reunite?
The duo shared glimpses of their hangout, posting photos of themselves posing together in what was clearly a warm and cheerful reunion.
For many Kenyans who came of age watching Tahidi High, the sight of the show’s resident troublemaker and the no-nonsense disciplinarian sharing a laugh in real life is the kind of wholesome content the internet rarely delivers.
The chemistry that made their fictional encounters so entertaining clearly did not disappear when the cameras stopped rolling.
During the meetup, OJ also shared a fun birthday shoutout moment.
“Hello guys, where are the Virgos? My special guest has reminded me about you Virgos who have come here to say hi to me. Say, ‘Happy birthday, Virgos!’ Clock it, clock it,” he said, with Miss Morgan stepping into the frame to join in the celebration.
Since Tahidi High wrapped up, both actors have kept themselves busy in the entertainment industry.
OJ has channelled much of his energy into talent academy coaching and film production, and he has previously linked up with former cast members Abel Mutua, who played Freddie, and Philip Karanja, who played Melvin, through collaborative film and talent development projects.
Miss Morgan, on the other hand, has been candid with the public about navigating personal and financial difficulties in the years following Tahidi High.
The reunion between the two is part of a broader pattern of sporadic get-togethers among former Tahidi High cast members, each one reigniting the affection that Kenyan audiences still carry for the show and the characters it brought to life.
