Tanzanian singer Nandy has disclosed that the destruction of her husband’s business during the October election unrest forced him to postpone plans to buy her a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, a car she describes as her dream vehicle.
Speaking about the setback in an interview shared by YouTuber Chazymedia on Instagram on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Nandy said her husband, Billnass, encountered serious challenges at a time when he was still growing and stabilising his business in 2025.
She noted that although he had intended to purchase the car earlier, he asked her to wait until 2026 due to the difficulties he faced.
“I am very grateful to him because he faced some challenges earlier while he was growing and building his business in 2025. This car was my dream car, but he told me to wait, maybe until 2026, because the challenges at the time made it impossible,” Nandy shared.

Despite the setback, Nandy said her husband later revisited the idea toward the end of the year, assuring her they would still talk about the car once things stabilised.
She revealed that at the beginning of 2026, he noticed how often she spoke about the G-Wagon and how much she loved it.
Nandy said that Billnass then asked her how much money she had saved toward purchasing it so they could combine their resources and top up the amount to secure the vehicle.
“At the end of the year, he told me that even if challenges occurred, we would not discuss these car matters yet. At the beginning of 2026, he saw that I really loved the car and talked about it a lot, so he asked me how much money I had saved. I told him the amount, and honestly, my savings were small. He told me not to worry, that we would find the car together and he would add money if needed,” she narrated.
The couple even travelled to South Africa, where Nandy saw different cars, including a G-Wagon in the exact colour she wanted.
However, they decided not to purchase it immediately and returned to Tanzania to think it through.
“We even travelled to South Africa, where I saw different cars and the G-Waggon in the colour I wanted, but we did not buy it then. He told me we should return to Tanzania first to think it through. When we got back, I was so excited that I couldn’t even eat properly because I kept thinking about the car. That’s when, on Valentine’s Day, he surprised me with it,” Nandy said.
Valentine’s gift
Nandy further clarified that the G-Wagon she showcased on Valentine’s Day was the long-awaited gift from her husband.
She admitted she should have made it clear when posting about it that it was a present from Billnass, emphasising that she would not have been able to buy the luxury vehicle on her own.
“Yeah, the other day on Valentine’s Day, I was shown a Valentine’s gift, which was a G-Waggon. Let me say exclusively that I could not have bought that car myself. When I posted it, I should have written that it was a gift from my husband,” she said.
The challenges she referred to stem from the October election violence in Tanzania, when protesters torched Billnass’s electronics shop, Nenga Tronix, during nationwide unrest linked to the polls.
The incident led to significant financial losses for the rapper, who had actively campaigned during the election period.
