Teacher Cillah, whose real name is Priscilla Wanjiru Karanja, has broken her silence on her marital status after weeks of viral social media banter involving George Ruto kept her love life in the public spotlight.
The popular TikToker and primary school teacher met TikTok personality and doctor Majesty Njuguna for the first time on Wednesday, September 23. The meeting, which followers had been anticipating after Majesty publicly expressed interest in meeting her, quickly became a talking point online.
Is Teacher Cillah married?
During the encounter, Cillah wasted little time addressing the curiosity surrounding her relationship status.
“To make it clear, mimi nimeolewa. I am married, just to clear the airwaves,” she told Majesty directly, leaving little room for ambiguity.
Cillah’s personal life became a subject of widespread fascination earlier this year after she jokingly expressed interest in marrying into the first family, telling her followers she wanted to “toka block.”
George played along, cheekily asking for her TSC registration number in a response that sent the internet into overdrive.
Cillah kept the momentum going by planning a fictitious traditional wedding, calling on vendors to submit proposals and even sharing an AI-generated image of herself and George as a couple.
She also started referring to herself online as “Mrs. George Ruto,” much to the delight of her growing fanbase.
George eventually visited Cillah’s workplace at Westlands Primary School in Nairobi, making good on his promise to donate sports and learning equipment to the school.
At the event, Cillah handed him the microphone, giving him a platform to address the viral saga in person.
George did not shy away from setting the record straight in characteristic fashion. During the meeting, he also hinted that he is seeing someone.
He had also previously described their interaction as “social media hype,” noting that marriage is a serious, lifelong commitment.
With Cillah now confirming she is married and George having made his own position clear, the lighthearted saga appears to have reached its natural conclusion, even as it continues to generate buzz online.
