Police in Nairobi have arrested two male suspects and one female after they allegedly abducted a 14-year-old girl at the Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) terminus.

Parkins Odero and Alfred Matumona are said to have separately defiled the minor at a residence in Riruta Satellite area, Dagoretti, after abducting her from the terminus on May 9.

According to a statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday, the minor was travelling from Mombasa to Nairobi aboard a 3pm train which was set to arrive in Nairobi at night.

Narrating the account given by the minor’s father, the girl arrived at the Nairobi terminus at around 9:30 pm and then left the station in company of Odero.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Odero defiled the minor and then handed her over to Matumona on the following day who is also believed to have defiled her.

A third suspect, Jackline Mangea, was also arrested after police discovered that she assisted in harbouring the minor.

The trio will remain in police custody pending further action.
