Police in Tharaka Nithi are investigating a homicide after a man’s body was discovered dumped in river Ura on Sunday.

According to residents, the body was not immediately identified because it was missing a head and private parts.

Officers from Gatunga police station removed the body from the scene to the Marimanti Level 4 hospital as the investigation into the shocking discovery continued.

Police officers familiar with the incident have appealed to the public who may have missing kin to report to the police in order to aid identification and investigations.
