Residents in Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi County have appealed to leaders in the region to improve local infrastructure.

Locals who spoke to Citizen Digital want the leaders to address access to clean water and the poor road network.

“We were promised clean water and better roads, yet here we are still struggling,” a local lamented.

The ongoing challenges are evident as families continue to bear the brunt of the unreliable water supply, which not only affects their daily lives but also their health.

“My children often get sick because we have no choice but to drink from unsafe sources,” shared another frustrated resident.

The road conditions exacerbate the situation, making it difficult for residents to access essential services such as healthcare and education.

“It’s like a nightmare trying to reach the clinic or the school when the roads are so bad,” added a local.

Despite repeated assurances from local leaders regarding improvements, the community feels abandoned.

Residents hope that by voicing their concerns, the leaders will take the necessary steps to improve the quality of life in the community.
