Police officers have initiated investigations into the murder of a 49-year-old man whose body was discovered dumped in a bush in a village within the Lugari constituency, Kakamega County.
The victim, Isaac Tatuli, had reportedly left his colleagues after finalizing arrangements for the removal of his cousin’s child from the mortuary ahead of the burial. Although he was headed home, he never arrived, and his body was found just a few meters from his residence on Friday.
“We were together just yesterday as we finalized preparations for the burial. He didn’t return home, only for his body to be discovered dumped in the bush today,” a colleague remarked.
He also pointed out, “There is a gang consisting of young people known as ‘China’ who continue to terrorize residents, especially at night, and security agencies need to deal with this issue.”
Pamela Bushuru, a witness, said she discovered the body as she went to milk her cows.
“The body was in a terrible state. It had panga wounds and missing body parts,” she said.
