The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match between Kakamega Homeboys and Kariobangi Sharks was halted midway due to heavy rain on Sunday, September 29, 2024. The game was stopped in the 58th minute after the Mumias Complex playing field became flooded.

At the time of the stoppage, Kariobangi Sharks were leading, thanks to a goal from new signing Ally Salum in the 46th minute. The match will resume on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 1 PM at the same venue, as confirmed in a statement from Sharks: “As a result of heavy downpour, the match ended prematurely and will resume at the 58th minute tomorrow at 1 PM. Ally Salum had us ahead in the 46th minute.”

Sharks have had an impressive start to the season, remaining unbeaten in their first three matches and scoring six goals in their last two games. Meanwhile, Homeboys are still searching for their first win, having drawn twice and lost once. Both teams will aim to showcase their skills when the match resumes.

Other Matches
In other FKFPL matches, AFC Leopards continued their strong form with a 2-1 victory over Nairobi City Stars at Dandora Stadium. Victor Otieno scored his first goal for the club in the first half, and an own goal by City Stars secured the win for Leopards, who now sit second on the FKFPL table behind KCB FC.

Additionally, newly promoted Mara Sugar fought back to draw 1-1 with Murang’a Seal at St. Sebastian Park. Murang’a took an early lead with a stunning long-range strike from Titus Kapchanga in the second minute, but Mara Sugar equalized through Mike Isabwa in the 70th minute.

In another match, KCB secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars FC at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, thanks to a second-half goal from Francis Kahiro. This win puts KCB at the top of the table with 10 points from four games, while Ulinzi is struggling with just one point after suffering their second loss of the season.
