‘This house needs a wife’ – Salasya says after women prayed in his house

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has stated that his house now needs a wife, signalling that he is courting the idea of getting a marriage partner.

Salasya made the statement after a group of women visited his rural home for prayers on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

In the video, Salasya can be heard engaging the elderly women in a lively conversation in the local Luhya dialect.

Sharing his takeaways after the visit, the lawmaker noted that the time is ripe for him to get a wife who would be welcoming guests to his home.

MP’s concerns with most ladies

Salasya, however, expressed his concern that most ladies have a habit of monitoring their men closely, with a keen eye on their whereabouts, company and what they are doing.

“But wasichana wa siku hizi wanataka tu kuishi na husband bamba to bamba,” Salasya stated.

Despite there being no wife to perform the duty he highlighted, Salasya expressed joy that the delegation of women paid him a visit and prayed for him.

“Am so happy they came and prayed for me; Aki, this was so nice,” he added, accompanying his statement with a video taken during the mission.

In the brief clip, the lawmaker can be seen engaging his guests in a lively conversation in the local Luhya dialect.

One of the women spoke blessings on the lawmaker, praising him for remarkable work in improving schools in his constituency.

Salasya confirmed to them that his present focus is education, highlighting that he has improved the learning environment for learners.

Salasya’s search for a wife

The MP recently shared that he has friends who are already trying to connect him with potential partners, speaking openly about his plans to marry several wives.

“One we schooled with him in Egerton; he is called Dr Romio from Garisa. He was in my medical camp at Shianda KMTC. The next one is from Madagascar, and he has promised me he will give me a wife from his country, Madagascar.

“They are Bantus; they speak the Malagasy language, like mixed Swahili, because I am a polygamous man, naturally from the Wanga kingdom; immediately I start to marry my wives,” Salasya shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, March 11, 2026.
