The meteorological department forecasts sunny and dry conditions in most parts of the country from today (Tuesday) until next week, as outlined in their May 14 to May 20 weather forecast.
Counties in the northern region such as Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, and those along the coast including Tana River, Kilifi, and Kwale will experience dry conditions. This occurs amidst the displacement of over 500 families in these regions due to floods.
The Kenya Red Cross, in collaboration with other organizations, is working to distribute relief food and other items to the affected families. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise, with maximum temperatures likely exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. However, some areas will continue to receive rainfall, with potentially dangerous levels in isolated places across the country.
The Central Highlands, Western Kenya, and Rift Valley regions will particularly experience rainfall, with some areas within these regions expected to have very high levels of rain. Daytime temperatures in these regions will range from 17 to 25 degrees Celsius, while night time temperatures could drop below 10 degrees Celsius, especially in parts of the Central Highlands.
