Three suspects were arrested on Friday after they allegedly assaulted a 31-year-old man to death over allegations of stealing pesticides within the Kapsiliot area of Karuna Meibeki ward in Uasin Gishu County.

The deceased, identified as Tom Lopeyok, was found in a bush by residents, with bruises, which indicated that he was hit with a blunt object.

The incident is said to have occurred at 10 am, however, the deceased’s body was discovered six hours later.

The suspects; Dennis Wafula, aged 52, Jackson Khamasi, 62, and Kibet Ole, 48, are said to have given Lopeyok a thorough beating after he allegedly stole a pesticide believed to be Wafula’s.

The suspects are detained at Moiben Police Station for questioning, whereas the body of the deceased was transferred to Iten County Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem.
