Three suspects riding on a motorcycle were shot and killed Wednesday morning shortly after snatching a mobile phone from a pedestrian in Nairobi’s South B area.

According to police reports, the suspects grabbed the phone from a female pedestrian near the Car and General area and fled towards South B around 6:30 am.

Upon receiving the suspects’ descriptions, police launched an operation, leading to an encounter with the suspects by patrolling officers who opened fire, resulting in their deaths. Witnesses reported that all three suspects, young men aged below 25, were shot at close range.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. He stated that the group had been involved in multiple attacks and robberies in the area before being confronted by the police. The bodies have been taken to the mortuary for autopsy and identification.

Meanwhile, in the Industrial Area of Nairobi, a man was fatally stabbed during a fight, with the assailant still at large. The victim, identified as Joseph Mwedwa, 21, was found with a stab wound in the chest. The suspected assailant is known to the police, who are actively searching for their arrest.

In Limuru, the body of a man was discovered in the Kihingo area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, with injuries including a cut on the right side of the mouth and a stab wound on the chest.

Residents reported hearing noises around 2 am before the body was found. The motive behind the murder remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing following the transfer of the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
