Kenya Power on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, issued a notice informing Kenyans of planned electricity interruption in Kilifi County.

In a statement, the utility company stated that the planned outage which will occur on Thursday, November 30, 2023, will affect parts of Kilifi county from 9 am to 5 pm.

The areas affected include; Makio Hall, Majengo Kanamai, Majengo DO’s Office, Umoja Rubber, Majengo Mapya, Kapedo, Bokoboko, Mvita Oils, Khosla Farm, Kwa Kanyi, Mamba Farm, Kikambala Housing, part of Elsek Estate, North Coast College, Bomani Dispensary, Bomani PalePale, Junju Dispensary, Bomani 3 Stars, Bomani Kireme, Bomani Pentagon, Bomani UB40, Bomani Manase, Junju Center, Junju Secondary, Hanifa’s Farm, Mwembetsungu and adjacent places.

The utility firm mentioned Kilifi as the only county that will experience planned power interruptions on Thursday.

It’s uncommon for Kenya Power to announce a planned power outage affecting only one county.

Kilifi is among the coastal counties that have been affected by floods due to the ongoing El Nino rains in the country.

The flooding in Kilifi caused property destruction including damage on the Mbogolo bridge on the busy Kilifi-Mtwapa road.
