A traffic officer in Mombasa County’s Likoni Constituency died on the spot after his tuktuk was involved in a fatal crash on Tuesday night.

The officer is said to have impounded the Tuktuk, with the intention of taking it to Likoni police station before it slammed head-on into a speeding motorcycle.

Timothy Muasya, the commander in chief of police in the Likoni constituency, confirmed the occurrence, saying the officer died on the spot while the motorcycle operator was seriously injured.

The officer’s body was moved to the main hospital morgue in Mombasa county, while the injured were rushed to the Likoni district hospital, where they are still being treated.
