The family of three individuals who went missing in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area is demanding justice after their bodies were discovered. The victims, identified as Amina Abdirashid Dahir, aged 11, and her 22-year-old sister Nusuiba Dahir, disappeared on the evening of Monday, October 21.

They had left home around 5:30 PM to search for their mother, who had gone out earlier for skin treatment but had not returned or communicated.

The family expressed concern about their mother’s prolonged absence, stating it was unusual for her not to be home. The police reported that the bodies were found in Bahati, Parklands, and Machakos, with similar injuries, raising suspicions that they may have been lured to their deaths.

Upon arriving at the city mortuary to confirm their fears, the family found the bodies of the two girls, which had been collected from different locations in the city. The sisters had taken a taxi to their destination in search of their mother. CCTV footage captured them making a phone call before a car arrived, and they both got in; this was the last confirmed sighting of them alive.

The following morning, the family received the devastating news that Amina and Nusuiba had been found in Parklands and Bahati, while their mother’s body was discovered in a bush in Machakos, also exhibiting similar fatal injuries.

Police suggested that the same individual may be responsible for all three killings. A team of detectives is investigating the case, focusing on interviewing close family members as part of their inquiries.

Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei stated that a homicide unit is now handling the investigation. “We are yet to know why this happened, but we have our teams on the ground,” he said, adding that the family is demanding swift action in the investigation.

In a separate incident in Kisumu, the body of a middle-aged woman, a business operator at Otonglo market, was discovered along the Kisumu-Busia highway, suspected to be a murder victim.

Locals reported that this was the third such case in the area, following the discovery of two men’s bodies in Nyamasaria and Maraba in separate incidents. The woman appeared to have been killed at the scene, and her assailants remain at large. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident as well.
