The Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has suspended trips on its Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) service for trains operating between Nakuru and Kisumu.

In a statement on Thursday, KRC said that the suspension has been effected due to the heavy rains being experienced countrywide.

“We have therefore suspended the Kisumu Safari train services on Friday, May 5 and Sunday, May 7,” read part of the statement.

The rail service provider however assured its customers that efforts to restore to track are underway and communication shall be made once clearance is granted.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused.”
