Cash-strapped Barcelona could lose up to 10 academy players in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s impressive first season under Hansi Flick has been built on La Masia graduates such as Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casadó, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal.

The Catalan side currently lead the LaLiga title race and have reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.

In the Champions League, they are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals.

However, Barcelona’s financial issues persist and could impact their squad planning and recruitment.

The club continues to struggle with player registrations, leading to the controversial case of £50 million summer signing Dani Olmo, who was briefly barred from playing matches in January.

LaLiga chiefs initially ruled that Olmo and Pau Víctor would not be registered until the summer due to Barcelona exceeding the league’s salary cap.

According to Sport, Barça could be forced to part ways with up to 10 players from their current under-19 squad this summer.

Most of the youngsters have contracts expiring on 30 June, meaning they could leave on free transfers.

Captain Arnau Pradas, striker Hugo Alba, and winger Jan Virgili have reportedly been earmarked by Flick as potential first-team players. However, clubs from the Premier League and across Europe are monitoring the trio, hoping to take advantage of Barcelona’s financial struggles.
