Fenerbahce attacking midfielder, Arda Guler has decided to join Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid over Barcelona, according to reports in The Athletic.

The Turkish prodigy has communicated his decision to Fenerbache.

Guler has been on the summer transfer target list for a host of top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Ajax, AC Milan, Dortmund and Liverpool.

His release clause is said to be just €17.5 million after taxes.

The 18-year-old scored six goals and registered seven assists in 35 games across competitions for Fenerbahce last season.

Guler has often been compared to former Fenerbahce, Arsenal and Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil, who is now retired.
