Arsenal defender, Omar Rekik, has joined Wigan Athletic on loan.

Rekik was recalled from his loan spell at Sparta Rotterdam before he joined Wigan Athletic for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal disclosed this in a statement via its website on Tuesday evening.

The statement read in part, “Omar Rekik has been recalled from his loan spell at Sparta Rotterdam and has joined Wigan Athletic on loan for the remainder of the season.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Omar all the best during his time with Wigan Athletic for the remainder of the season.”

Rekik, 21, had made seven appearances for Sparta Rotterdam since joining the club on loan at the start of this season.
