Chelsea have confirmed that Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel has left the club to join French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

The Blues made this known in a statement via its website on Tuesday.

The statement partly read, “Angelo will now continue his development in the French top flight with Strasbourg, who are coached by former Nice and Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira. Good luck, Angelo!”.

Gabriel had joined Chelsea earlier this summer from Brazilian side Santos.

The 18-year-old was part of Chelsea’s first-team squad for their pre-season trip to the United States.

Gabriel featured in Chelsea’s friendlies against Wrexham, Brighton and Fulham.
