Monday’s deadline for Kylian Mbappe to activate the option of extending his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain has elapsed.
This means the 24-year-old’s deal will now expire in June 2024.
Mbappe is refusing to back down in his stance and could now leave as a free agent next year.
However, PSG want to sell Mbappe for some money this summer.
This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Monday night.
Romano tweeted: “No late twists in Kylian Mbappé saga — deadline of July 31 is over and Mbappé can’t activate the option to extend his PSG contract until June 2025.
“The contract officially expires in June 2024 now.
“PSG keep thinking he agreed with Real Madrid — but Kylian remains for sale.”
