Former Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Petit has urged the club to do all they could to sign Athletic Bilbao winger, Nico Williams.

He described the Spain international as an incredible player, insisting he would want Arsenal to acquire his services.

A host of clubs lined up to try to sign Nico Williams in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Top European clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich were said to be eyeing the player.

However, the 22-year-old ended up staying at Atletico Bilbao.

Barcelona are reportedly said to have reignited their interest in the player and have also earmarked the No. 10 jersey for him if he joins them next summer.

Petit is hoping that Arsenal can sign Williams, telling Prime Casino, “…One player that Arsenal should go all out for is Nico Williams, it would be a dream signing for Mikel Arteta.

“He is an amazing player and he’ll be wanted by so many clubs, I hope he ends up at Arsenal.”
