Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has expressed surprise over the speculation linking him to a move from the club this summer.

The midfielder confirmed his decision to stay at the Emirates this summer, as he is being strongly linked with a return to Italy.

The Italy international is rumoured to be searching for a new club following Declan Rice’s imminent arrival at Arsenal.

This is happening less than six months after the Brazil-born midfielder joined the Gunners from Chelsea.

The 31-year-old midfielder insisted he has no plans to leave and looks forward to his first full season at Arsenal, where he hopes to challenge for top honours again.

He told the Evening Standard: “To be honest, I was surprised but really happy by how welcome I was [and] how (Arsenal) treated me when I came in.

“I’m very happy to stay at Arsenal, to be honest. Those rumours—I’m not sure who was behind them, to be honest.”
