Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has explained why the club keep selling academy players amid the ongoing summer transfer window.
Chelsea recently reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to sell one of their academy players, Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher is not the first academy player Chelsea have decided to sell.
The Blues had also sold Mason Mount to their Premier League rival Manchester United in the past.
When asked why Chelsea keep selling academy players like Gallagher?
Maresca told the media on Monday night, according to Fabrizio Romano: “It’s not Chelsea problem…It’s the rules problem.
“The clubs are compelled to sell players because of the rules. It’s not a Chelsea problem, it’s a Premier League problem.”
