Former Manchester star, Juan Mata has described goalkeeper, David de Gea’s exit from Old Trafford as a ‘sad day’.

De Gea, over the weekend, announced that he is leaving Man United this summer as it is the ‘right time to undertake a new challenge’.

Reacting, Mata, in a post on Instagram, said: “I don’t really want to believe it. The amount of times that you saved us.

“Always professional, always sticking up for the club you love, your home. You deserve the best. Sad day for Manchester United. Legend.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford also wished De Gea well for his ‘next step’.

The England international said: “You were here from my breakthrough, good luck with your next step brother.”
