Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has laughed off suggestions the club is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a loan move for Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is refusing to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions.
This means the 24-year-old could leave as a free agent in June 2024.
However, PSG are desperate to get some money on Mbappe, who is believed to be keen on joining Real Madrid.
Mbappe has also been linked with the Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs.
But Klopp has now claimed any deal for the Frenchman would be too expensive.
“I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all.
“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.
“But it’s possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me, but that hasn’t happened in the eight years that I’ve been here. That would be the first time,” Klopp told Sky Germany.
