Transport was disrupted along Dennis Pritt after a tree fell along the road.

The incident, which happened near St George’s Girls Secondary School, cut off movement along the busy route.

“I approached the area only to find a tree in the middle of the road, I was forced to turn back,” Michael Okeyo, a motorist, told Citizen Digital.

This follows heavy rains in Nairobi and its environs which saw strong winds bring the tree down.

Motorists were forced to use alternative routes following the incident.

“We had to take the turn towards Rose Avenue before joining Lenana Road,” Rose Wahome added.

Elsewhere, an electric pole blocked a section of Muthangari Road thanks to the heavy downpour.

Photos seen by Citizen Digital show the pole covering almost half of the road.

The Kenya Meteorological Department had earlier indicated that moderate to heavy rainfall will be experienced over several parts of Nairobi.
