Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has assured Kenyans of the government’s commitment to completing all stalled projects across the country. Speaking in Nyatike, Migori County, he highlighted that a significant number of these stalled projects pertain to roads.

Mbadi noted that approximately Ksh. 166 billion is needed to complete these roads, and he plans to assist President William Ruto in raising the necessary funds. He emphasized that many of the stalled roads are located in the Nyanza region, and the government is dedicated to addressing these issues promptly.

He also mentioned that the roads promised for tarmacking by the Head of State during his recent visit to the Nyanza region will receive funding.

In addition to the infrastructure concerns, Mbadi appealed to motorists to maintain sanity and discipline within the public transport sector. He pointed out that indiscipline has made most insurance companies reluctant to work with public transport, resulting in a rise in road accidents. Currently, only two insurance companies in the country continue to insure public transport vehicles.

The CS stated that he has engaged with representatives from the public transport sector regarding insurance matters and assured that his office would collaborate with the Interior Ministry to improve order in public transport.
