National men’s basketball team Morans suffered their second defeat in a row in the ongoing FIBA 2025 qualifiers in Tunis, Tunisia after losing 58-88 to African heavyweights Angola in a Group E clash.
Morans started on the wrong footing losing 12-22 before losing the second quarter narrowly 21-22 as they went to half time break trailing 33-44.
After the break Angola continued to dominate the one-sided match as they won 20-15 in the third quarter before winding up with a 24-10 win in the last quarter as the match ended 88-58 at the final buzzer.
Derrick Makenye Ogechi, Albert Odero and Eugene Adera dropped a combined 34 points for the Morans.
On the other hand, Jilson Bango, Childe Dundao and Gerson Goncalves were the shining light for the Angola side as they cruised to easy victory.
Kenya lost their first match on 69-90 on Friday against home team Tunisia and will wind up their first window qualifiers Sunday against Guinea.
The first window of the Fiba 2025 qualifiers started Friday and will end tomorrow Sunday with the second window of qualifiers to take place in November this year.
