Tusker confirm Shami Kibwana’s exit

FKF Premier League Giants Tusker FC, have officially announced the departure of Shami Kibwana ahead of the upcoming season.

Kibwana had been an integral part of the team for the past two seasons, joining the Brewers in September 2021.

Before his stint at Tusker, he showcased his talent and impressive goal-scoring abilities during his time with Kakamega Homeboyz.

In 22 matches, Kibwana bagged an impressive 10 goals and provided two assists, significantly contributing to Homeboyz finishing as runners-up in the league.

During his time at Tusker, the talented midfielder played a pivotal role in their successful league campaign, where they secured the league title.

Tusker FC confirmed Kibwana’s exit and expressed gratitude for his services, referring to him as a “great servant” to the club.

“Another great servant leaves the club. Midfielder Shami Mwinyi departs after two seasons, having joined the team from Kakamega Homeboyz at the start of the 2020-21 campaign. Thank you for the memories Shami!” the club announced.

During his tenure with Tusker, Kibwana showcased his versatility by scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists for the Brewers.

As the club seeks to revamp their squad, they have also bid farewell to long-serving players Jackson Macharia and Kevin Monyi, whose contracts have expired.

The departures come amid speculations and links to several players in the ongoing transfer window.

Adding to the list of departures, Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge has also left Tusker FC after the expiry of his contract.

The club faced a challenging season without securing any trophies, are determined to bounce back in style in the upcoming season.
