Nyali lawmaker Mohamed Ali has penned a heartfelt tribute in honour of his late father who passed away 16 years ago.
The media personality in his post on social media explained the pain and memories are still fresh in his mind following the loss of his loved one.
“On a day like this, 16 years ago was the most painful day in my life. This is the price you pay for having a great father. You get the wonder, the joy, the tender moments and you get the tears at the end, too. A father’s love is forever imprinted on his child’s heart. Tutaonana baadae inshaallah,” he posted on X.

In his post, the investigative journalist also shared several old pictures of his late father and another one at his graveside.
In 2022, Ali shared pictures as he visited his father’s grave to pray for him after the Eid prayers.
In his post, he asked God to have mercy on his father and all those who passed on with hope for life after death.
“Today after the Eid Prayers I visited my Dad’s grave to pray for him. This is my 15th year of visiting the graveyard, reflecting and reminding myself of death as well as life after. May Allah have mercy on him and those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing join them. Ameen,” read his tribute.
During last year’s general elections, Ali beat the ODM wave in Mombasa to retain his parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket.
“It was a difficult and an easy race at the same time. It was hard because I was sick during the electioneering period and easy because the people of Nyali stood with the truth and supported me,” he said.
At the time, he claimed that he had survived an assassination attempt, and thanked God for saving his life. The MP-elect also thanked security officers for ensuring that the electoral process went on peacefully.
“On behalf of my family I thank you, my competitors are welcome to work together with me for the sake of Nyali people,” he added.
