Two charged for trespassing tycoon’s land in Malindi

Two people were on Monday arraigned before a Malindi court and charged for trespassing on a piece of land within Jacaranda are in Malindi Sub County.

The court was told that Kaingu Thoya and Chenda Yeri were on two occasions found to trespass the piece of land that is allegedly owned by a tycoon.

For the passed two years the the said tycoon is accused of harassing the family, sometimes using the police service to arrest and detain without charging. The family has lived in the said piece of land for decades.

Before Principal Magistrate Joy Wesonga, the two denied the charges and we’re released on a Ksh.50,000 bond and Ksh.20,000 cash bail each.

The case will be heard on June 6th 2025.
