Two people have died on the spot in a tragic road accident after a car collided head-on with a truck along the Nairobi – Nakuru highway in Lari constituency, Kiambu county.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the car -a Prado- tried to overtake other cars as it was en route to Naivasha.

The driver and a passenger were confirmed dead while those in the truck sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to different hospitals for treatment.

Residents in the area who witnessed the tragedy say that this is not the first accident in the area and they urged motorists to exercise caution, especially as the rainy season approaches.

The bodies of the two have been taken and taken to Kijabe hospital mortuary while both cars have been towed to Uplands police station.
