Two people have been killed following a grisly road accident along the Southern Bypass in Langata, Nairobi County.

The accident involved two vehicles-a trailer truck and a lorry, which were heading towards the same direction from Kikuyu.

Mugumuine area chief George Mukuria said the accident happened as a result of a wrongful overtaking by the speeding vehicles which reportedly smashed into each other on the sides.

Both drivers died on the spot, and their lifeless bodies were still at scene pending police processing before being ferried to the morgue.

The area has been a notorious black spot which has claimed several lives according to authority’s report.

Most of the victims of the killer area are pedestrians, Kibra and Langata residents seeking to cross the busy highway oblivious of the danger.

The incident caused a long snarl-up, frustrating the seamless logistical operations on the busy link road.

Traffic police officers from Langata have arrived to contain the situation.
