Two people died on Saturday in a road accident involving a lorry at the Green Park area on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Athi River North police boss Anderson Muriithi Mbae confirmed the incident to Citizen Digital, stating that the lorry’s driver lost control while attempting to navigate a sharp turn, subsequently hitting a roadside boulder head-on.

Two occupants of the lorry died on the spot, while the driver sustained serious head injuries and is currently recuperating at Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the hospital’s morgue for storage pending identification, and the lorry’s wreckage has been towed to Mavoko Police Station.
