The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested two police officers from Capitol Hill Police Station in Nairobi on charges of bribery.

According to EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi, the officers allegedly demanded a bribe from a motorist as an inducement to release his motorcycle, claiming he was riding without a valid driving license despite having a provisional one.

The motorist, unwilling to pay the bribe, reported the incident to the EACC. Following an investigation, the EACC conducted an operation on the same day, resulting in the officers’ arrest. They are currently being held at Kilimani Police Station pending further processing at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station.
