In a case of irony in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet county, two police officers were arrested after they were found culpable of slaughtering of a cow that had been reported missing at Kaptagat police station.
According to the police report, the two, Chrispus Butali and Samwel Mbugua Njuguna, were arrested after being found at the scene where the cow was slaughtered.

Police noted that one Josphine Kandie had reported her cows missing, and later, she got information that a cow had been found slaughtered at Kaptagat police station.

Irate members of the public stormed the station, demanding the transfer of the officers, including the OCS.

Police tried in vain to calm down the rowdy residents who had barricaded Eldama Ravine -Eldoret road.

By the time of publication, officers were still engaging locals in running battles.
