Two suspected robbers were Thursday morning lynched by an irate mob at Migori town in Kuria West sub-county, Migori County.
According to reports, the two unidentified suspects allegedly attacked a bodaboda rider on Wednesday night trying to rob his motorbike and other valuables.
Narrating the nighttime ordeal, Suna West sub-county police commander Elizabeth Wakuloba said one of the deceased hired a bodaboda rider in Migori town to ferry him to an unknown destination but upon reaching Rumours area he turned against the rider together with his accomplice who was positioned nearby.
Wakuloba added that efforts to rob the rider turned futile after nearby residents responded to the victim’s yells. The suspects then attempted to flee but their freedom was shortlived after the chasing mob caught up with them and attacked them.
The rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to Migori level four hospital where he is receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, further probe has been launched on the matter as Walukoba urged residents to avoid taking the law into their hands.
